PASTOR SSENYONGA COACHED YOUTH TO FRAME FELLOW PASTOR


He vehemently denied any connection between him and the nine youth who attacked Rubaga miracle centre, but evidence keeps piling up that shows otherwise. Pastor Jackson Ssenyonga of Christian life church Bwaise has on several occasions sworn before man and God that he had no connection to the youth who plotted to frame Pastor Kayanja with botched-up sodomy claims.

Ssenyonga frequently called the youth using a number under an alias, Robert Ojok 0708208205.

However, on Thursday, during a court session, the prosecution proved that there were numerous phone exchanges between Ssenyonga and one of the accused, Alex Wakamala.

Drama unfolded before Mwanga II Magistrates Court as Chief State Attorney Jonathan Muwaganya tore through the testimony of Alex Wakamala, one of nine youths accused of orchestrating a plot to frame Pastor Robert Kayanja of Rubaga Miracle Centre Cathedral in a sodomy scandal.

Wakamala’s co-accused are Regan Ssentongo, Peter Serugo, Israel Waiswa, Jamil Mwandha, Aggrey Kinene, Martins Kagolo, and Moses Tumwine, who is currently at large.

The cross-examination quickly turned tense when Muwaganya accused Wakamala of lying about a missing phone he once claimed to have reported to the police. Pressed on why he had failed to present a receipt for a replacement handset allegedly purchased at Mutaasa Kafeero Plaza, Wakamala admitted he had none.

The prosecutor shot back that the phone had merely been planted in his hands to manufacture evidence against pastor Kayanja.

Court then heard that the device contained fabricated messages intended to implicate pastor Kayanja. Wakamala stunned the courtroom when he confessed: “It’s me who fed in the messages.” But rather, he could not explain how certain incriminating audios and videos also ended up on the phone.

Muwaganya unveiled a deeper conspiracy, telling the court that Wakamala and his colleagues had attended “coaching sessions” coordinated by co-suspects Isreal Wasswa, Aggrey Kanene, and Mwandah Jamilu, allegedly under the watch of another city pastor, Jackson Ssenyonga.

In those meetings, the youths were reportedly promised a house, money, security, even trips abroad, in exchange for testimony tarnishing the name of pastor Kayanja.

The prosecutor played in open court audio recordings of the alleged planning meetings, and voices could be heard lamenting broken promises. Some of the boys warned that their lives were being ruined, accusing their handlers of using and abandoning them.

The prosecution further alleged that Wakamala, together with accomplices, mimicked Kayanja’s voice in fake audio clips that later circulated on TikTok. Asked about one such tape, Wakamala distanced himself, claiming ignorance of who uploaded it. Yet, Muwaganya countered that the very same audio had been tendered to court by Wakamala’s own lawyers.

At one point, the courtroom held its breath as a photo of alleged accomplice Pantalewo John was projected. Wakamala admitted recognising him, though noted “he has now gained weight.” The Prosecutor said Pantalewo was central in faking the pastor’s voice.

The day’s proceedings have however painted a picture of betrayal, manipulation, and high-stakes blackmail. The accused youths face charges of fabricating evidence, trespassing at Rubaga Miracle Centre, and giving false information to police.

As the gavel fell for adjournment by Grade one magistrate Adams Byarugaba, it was clear the battle over truth and deception in this sensational case was far from over.

It should also be recalled that a phone matrix presented in court by D/ASP Bill Ndyamuhaki from the Cybercrime Department of the police revealed that Aggrey Kinene, a personal assistant to Pastor Jackson Ssenyonga, had frequently called the youths, especially Reagan Ssentongo.

This phone matrix was submitted in court under oath, unlike the suspects who refused to testify under oath, seemingly because they had something to hide or feared being exposed by cross-examination.

Furthermore, Dr. Sam Kalungi, to whom the suspects were taken for examination on Pastor Ssenyonga’s orders, testified in court that he found no signs that the youths had been sodomized, which contradicted their claims.
