Pastor Jackson Ssenyonga continues his battle to tarnish Pastor Kayanja after he secretly met a number of bloggers and media personalities and gave them specific directives.
Sources say that on Saturday evening, Pastor Ssenyonga met bloggers who he directed that they must publish articles that tarnish Pastor Kayanja’s name.
This was after the fourth defence witness Labeeb khalifah who is currently serving a 5 years sentence of aggregated assault and robbery gave his testimony yesterday thought just like those before him, he refused to testify under oath.
However, his testimony appeared to be coached and poorly delivered. This raises questions about the mysterious person orchestrating the entire scenario. Just days earlier, on Wednesday, July 15, the High Court upheld a ruling by Nateete/Rubaga court Principal Grade One Magistrate Adams Byarugaba, which prohibited visual media coverage of the case due to previous distortions on social media.
In his defense, Labeeb claimed Kayanja had given him substantial sums of money. This claim prompts a question: if he received such large amounts, why did he attack Miracle Centre under the pretext of demanding arrears?
Labeeb and his co-accused face charges of conspiracy to obstruct justice, conspiracy to commit a felony, criminal trespass, and giving false information. His co-accused are Regan Ssentongo, Peter Serugo, Israel Waiswa, Jamil Mwandha, Alex Wakamala, Aggrey Kinene, Martins Kagolo, and Moses Tumwine, who is currently at large.
It’s noteworthy that the nine suspects have refused to testify under oath, which means the prosecution, led by Chief State Attorney Jonathan Muwaganya, cannot cross-examine them. This refusal has raised eyebrows.
A phone matrix presented in court by D/ASP Bill Ndyamuhaki from the Cybercrime Department of the police revealed that Aggrey Kinene, a personal assistant to Pastor Jackson Ssenyonga of Christian Life Church, Bwaise, had frequently called the youth, especially Reagan Ssentongo.
This phone matrix, produced under oath, suggests Pastor Ssenyonga’s involvement, leading to several questions. The primary one is whether Pastor Ssenyonga is behind the plot to tarnish Pastor Kayanja, even going so far as to hire high-profile lawyers like Robert Ojambo and Humphrey Tumwesigye to defend the suspects.
Furthermore, it should be recalled that Dr. Sam Kalungi, to whom the suspects were taken on Pastor Ssenyonga’s orders for examination, testified in court that he found no signs that the youth had been sodomized, contradicting their claims.
It should be remembered that the accused paid a visit to Christian Life Church, Bwaise and were received by Isreal Waswa and Aggrey Kanene, Pastor Ssentongo’s right hand men before they invaded Miracle Center.
One can only wonder about the true agenda behind this plot and why the defense has refused to testify under oath.
Only time will tell why Pastor Ssenyonga is going the whole nine yards to tarnish Pastor Kayanja to the extent of telling the bloggers to do everything humanely possible to get stories that tarnish Kayanja.
