Court Upholds 12 Years Sentence For Mozey Radio’s Killer Troy

The Court of Appeal has upheld the 12-year and three-month prison sentence handed to Godfrey Wamala, alias Troy, for killing Ugandan music icon Moses Ssekibogo aka Mozey Radio.

Information we have inficates that a panel of judges unanimously dismissed Wamala’s appeal, affirming that the trial court properly evaluated the evidence before convicting him.

Wamala had challenged both the conviction and sentence, arguing that there were inconsistencies in the prosecution’s case and claiming the punishment originally 14 years but reduced due to time spent on remand — was excessively harsh.

However, the appellate court ruled that the evidence presented was credible hence he has to stay in Luzira prison until the years are over.

He is expected to be out of prison in 2029.

Mozey Radio was killed in 2018 and most of his fans and family members have never moved on from as his memories still live.
