Global music icon Lionel Richie is expected to perform in Uganda as part of the Adventure of Humanity Concert, a high-profile event aimed at promoting global unity and climate change awareness.
The news was officially announced by Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Mr. Norbert Mao, during a press conference at the Uganda Media Centre on Monday.
“Lionel Richie is coming to Gulu in June. And Sister Sledge is also going to be performing in the same concert. Why Gulu? Because this concert is about repairing the world. It’s about climate change. It’s about uniting the world,” said Mao.
The concert is scheduled to take place at Kaunda Grounds in Gulu City, with the venue permit already approved by the city’s mayor for use from May 30 to June 9.
This marks a historic occasion for Gulu, as it hosts a major international event featuring world-renowned artists.
