According to reports, Two G4S security guards are under investigation for allegedly conspiring to rob over UGX 1 billion during a cash transit operation in Kampala.
The incident, reported last week involved the guards diverting a bullion van during a routine transfer of funds from Lubowa to Nakasero.
The vehicle was later found abandoned in Nabunya, Rubaga Division, along with two rifles left behind.
Reports say the stolen cash amounted to One Billion, Sixty-Nine Million, Four Hundred and Twenty Thousand Ugandan Shillings (UGX 1,069,420,000) and USD 14,474,
Police swiftly commenced investigations, leading to the arrest of a suspect, Otim Ambrose Richard, in Kwania District.
He was found in possession of only UGX 117 million which henhad kept in his bedroom believed to be part of the stolen money,
The other person he on the run and police is expected to catch and apprehend him for what he did like his person.
