In Uganda, it is currently customary to arrange multiple artist concerts on the same day. Spice Diana, however, feels that this is bad for the industry.
In a conversation with a local YouTuber, Spice clarified that Kampala show organizers only make money if they schedule shows on the same day as their audience, who are all similar aficionados of Ugandan music.
Instead of all of the fans attending one event on a specific day, she claims that the supporters feel compelled to split up, with fewer people attending each concert.
“It’s a new culture coming up, but it doesn’t make sense. Some people believe it benefits them, but it can’t be that way. Because we have the same fans, organizing shows on the same day divides them, and in the end, the organizers don’t benefit,” she partly said.
