Gravity’s Concert Flop Attributed to Feud with Bobi Wine

Gravity Omutujju’s highly anticipated ‘Embaga ya Isma N’Aminah’ concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval turned into a disappointment after a low turnout, with many pointing to his ongoing feud with fellow artist and politician Bobi Wine as the cause.

Photos and videos from the event around 10pm showed a poorly attended venue, a stark contrast to the crowd he pulled at the same venue last year.

The drop in support is believed to stem from Gravity’s recent criticism of Bobi Wine, a beloved figure among many youths.

The attacks started when Bobi Wine criticized the alleged allocation of UGX 15 billion by the government to Ugandan artists, arguing that the funds could be better used to build essential infrastructure like hospitals. Gravity responded by suggesting that Bobi Wine should use his own Busabala land to build a hospital if he genuinely cared about public welfare.

And it reached a boiling point when Gravity took two bags of cement and sand to Bobi Wine’s One Love Beach in Busabala as contribution for constructing the hospital.

This, further angered Bobi Wine’s supporters, leading to public backlash.

Despite earlier expressing confidence that the rivalry wouldn’t affect his show’s success, the poor attendance seemed to tell a different story.

To make matters worse, Bobi Wine’s brother, Mikie Wine, held a successful concert, “Tusaabale,” at Jahazi Pier on the same night, further underscoring the growing divide between the two camps.
