Colombia rely on Golden Generation at Olympics

After a brilliant Women’s World Cup campaign, Las Cafeteras are out to dazzle again at Paris 2024.

Colombia certainly made waves at the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™, not just for reaching the quarter-finals, but also for what their performances represented.

During the group phase, they beat Germany in one of the shocks of the event – a game where their young sensation Linda Caicedo also scored the Hyundai Goal of the Tournament.

If there was one thing that united Las Cafeteras during the tournament, it was the desire to go for more and not shy away from lofty goals. “We want to be champions” was the mantra of the squad coached at the time by Nelson Abadia.

That focus will be unchanged at Paris 2024, where they will again be dreaming big thanks to a superb squad that includes genuine star power in the likes of Catalina Usme and Daniela Montoya, seasoned internationals like Leicy Santos and young pros with considerable experience already, such as Ana Maria Guzman and star player Caicedo.
