UPL
SC Villa head coach Dusan Stojanovic claimed the Uganda Premier League Pilsner Coach of Month of April and May award after his side upstaged other title challengers to land a record extending 17th title.
Villa registered five victories from their final six league matches, losing only to crosstown, KCCA, 2-0 at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
The Serbian is not a stranger to monthly accolades. He has previously won the monthly award in December 2023, and the combined months of March and April, 2024.
For this latest one, Stojanovic beat BUL’s Abbey Kikomeko and Brian Ssenyondo of Kitara.
Kikomeko and Ssenyondo’s sides tightly contended for the title up to the last day of the season.
Player of The Month
Elsewhere, Busoga United’s Emmanuel Ajo was named the Pilsner Player of the Month despite his side being relegated.
Even in adversity, the young man’s star shone as he scored four goals in six games, although his heroics could not save his team from the drop.
He beat Vipers SC skipper Milton Karisa and Kitara striker Denis Omedi to the award.
Stojanovic, who was represented by Villa CEO William Nkemba as the Serbian is away on holiday, and Ajo each took home a plaque and one million Uganda shillings.
