Alexander Bagonza a.k.a A pass a famous Ugandan writer and song writer has come out to respond to all the criticism on his latest album that he made public earlier this year.
A Pass’ 42-track album dubbed “Bagonza” has received heavy criticism from the public and some members of the media in recent weeks.
Released earlier this year, several songs on the album have not received good airplay, and according to Deejay Nimrod, it is a “failed” project.
He has kept mum to all the earlier criticism until Deejay Nimrod referred to the album as a failed one.
A Pass said that Nimrod’s opinion does not make much sense to him because he had a plan while making the album.
“The problem we have is that we think we need validation from everyone. Just because Nimrod works at Galaxy doesn’t mean his point makes sense to me. I made that album knowing who the target audience was,” A Pass stated.
In an interview on NBS After 5, A Pass noted that while working on the album, he had a target audience in mind and that he has achieved whatever he set out to achieve with it.
He said that the “Bagonza” album was made for his fans and that they consumed the music on it to his satisfaction.
He specifically noted that, “The target audience (for this album) are the people who are already fans of A Pass. I do not go out trying to look for a new audience.”
He added, ” I try so hard to satisfy the audience I already have, those are the people who know what they want and I too know what they need and that’s exactly what I create for them. My fans are okay with what I’m doing.”
This shows how confident A Pass in his music career. He shows that his intention was never to grow his audience but to entertain his already existing fans further.
Deejay Nimrod in making his conclusion that the album is a failed project must have forgotten that any type of music is not for everyone. To this end, maybe A pass’ album was never his taste.
