Ugandan model Trisha Ahwera was crowned Miss Africa at the recently concluded Miss World Next Top Model pageant that happened in Beirut, Lebanon.
The finals of the pageant were held over the weekend and Uganda’s very own emerged the winner.
Before heading over to Lebanon, Ahwera informed media that she was confident of winning something despite the pageant featuring models from 23 countries.
She noted; “Am a bit nervous but again happy knowing that being on stage as part of a beauty pageant can be a nerve-wracking experience which will give me more skills and courage to motivate my followers who’d like to join modeling.”
This shows that Ahwera is confident about her beauty and other capabilities and she is willing to do what it takes to inspire other girls that wish to join modeling.
Trisha Ahwera further noted that she was hand picked for this beauty contest. she explained that she was noticed after her positive participation in the Top Model of Universe and was approached by the organizer of the pageant via Instagram to participate in Miss World Next Top Model.
“Being passionate about beauty, fashion, self-expression, and the love of my country, I picked and said yes,” she stated happily.
Her beauty and confidence indeed secured her a top spot as she finished in the 7th position at the pageant overall.
Trisha Ahwera was also crowned Miss Africa.
Elated, Trisha Ahwera expressed her happiness. She noted how proud she was to wave the Ugandan flag to such levels at an international pageant, something she has always yearned for.
