Yesterday, it was shocking to see many empty seats at Sheraton Kampala during the Gabriella Ntaate’s maiden concert.
Gabriella Ntaate’s songs have been trending all over Uganda but mostly on social media.
These include among others Cheza For Yesu and Brag about God. These songs have been played on different social events- both religious and secular.
The song Cheza For Yesu which informed the name for the concert trended for months on tiktok.
This is why we all expected her concert to overflow. However, to all our mismay, pictures were taking showing many empty seats when the great musician was singing. It looks like believers chose to continue listening to the gospel Artist’s songs in the comfort of their homes.
It is also alleged that Gabriella Ntaate lost the support of believers especially born Again Christians when she disclosed that she belongs to the seventh day Adventist religious denomination.
Given that her music was mostly listened to by born Again Christians, this might have led to the flop of her music.
Before she disclosed her religion, at the beginning of the year, Gabriella Ntaate was seen at Phaneroo with Apostle Grace Lubega who confessed that he and the wife love Gabriella Ntaate and her music so much.
It is however shocking why this great apostle never summoned his sheep at Phaneroo to go and fill up the concert.
It should also be remembered that it is not common for religious people to attend late night functions or celebrations. Most of them believe it is ungodly to be out at night given the many temptations thay come with the night. This could be the other reason people never turned up.
However, those who showed up for the concert have recorded amazing videos of Ntaate performing. Her great voice did not disappoint. She was also dressed elegantly and decent like she promised.
We congratulate Ntaate for the great performance exhibited.
