RS Berkane vs Zamalek in facts and figures

RS Berkane will host Egyptian giants Zamalek in the first-leg of the final of TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday.

The stakes are high as both teams vie for the title, with the Moroccans seeking to capitalize on their home advantage against the formidable Zamalek side in Berkane.

RS Berkane will be eager to secure the first-leg victory against Zamalek, while the Egyptian giants aim to assert their dominance before the return leg.

RS Berkane vs Zamalek will become the first fixture to be played twice in the final of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup, after their first clash in 2019. Each side won 1-0 at home but Zamalek were crowned champions after a penalty shootout (5-3).

RS Berkane could clinch their third title in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup and equal CS Sfaxien as the team with the most wins in the competition. If they win, it would be the 8th title for a Moroccan side, three more than any other country.

Zamalek have lost just one of their last 21 games in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup (W12 D8), losing against RS Berkane in the first leg of the 2019 final (0-1).

RS Berkane have won their last 11 home matches in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup (including the awarded win against USM Alger in the semi-finals this season). They last failed to do so in April 2021 (0-0 v JS Kabylie).

RS Berkane (8.1) and Zamalek (7.4) are the two sides with the most high turnovers per game in the 2023-24 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup. They are also the only two teams with more than 50 open play sequences with 10+ passes (113 for Zamalek, 71 for Berkane).

RS Berkane (54.7% – 446/815) and Zamalek (53.8% – 494/919) have the highest duel success percentage in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup this season.

During the semi-final against Dreams, Samson Akinyoola and Mostafa Shalaby became the 9th and 10th different scorers for Zamalek in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup this season; no side has more different goal scorers in 2023-24.

Only two players have created 20+ chances in the 2023-24 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup: Mohamed El Morabit (21 with RS Berkane) and Zizo (21 with Zamalek). Meanwhile, Youssef Mehri (RS Berkane) has the most chances created from open play (19, and 0 from set play).
