Musician Hajjara Namukwaya a.k.a Spice Diana a musician and song writer complained about the events organizers who are very poor at what they do.
She posted on her snap chat the following:
“Imagine driving a 6 hour journey and then it’s not the actual day for the event. Mpulira obusungu. Date changed and not communicated. Yet I woke up at 6am after sleeping for 4 hours. This hustle not fair.”
This was after she drove to Lusalira in Mubende District to perform at an event that she didn’t not disclose but later found out that the event was canceled.
She was not pleased with the event organizers for now informing her about the change in the program.
This goes back to how informal our music industry is, musicians are regularly taken for granted without any penalty on the part of the events’ organizers.
There have also been many incidents where musicians have been paid to perform at events or concerts but they neither show up or inform the organizers about their failure to show up.
Last year, the same musician specie Diana was seen crying on a stage while performing demanding for her pay. She stated that she works hard but people want to take her for granted.
This is just one of the many misfortunes in the music industry that need to be rectified.
