The musician Jackie Chandiru battled drug addiction for years while residing in treatment facilities.
The singer has now talked about the difficulties she had while undergoing treatment. Chandiru revealed that one of the facility’s residents nearly sexually assaulted her.
They used to share the same rooms as the male patients, and the caregiver had to step in to get things back to normal in the room.
“I was sexually assaulted during my rehab times. This man attempted to rape me because we used to live together, and I was the only female among a good number of male patients. However, I made a loud alarm, and the caretakers came and eventually restored calm in the room,” she partly said in an interview with a local YouTuber.
Chandiru is now releasing new music after overcoming addiction..
