Uganda Hippos storm semi finals with win over Senegal

The Uganda Hippos have stormed the semi-final stage at the on-going 13th Edition of the African Games in Ghana.

Handled by former International Morley Byekwaso Ochama the Hippos edged Senegal 1-0 in a Group B match played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday night.

Allan Oyirworth netted from the spot after 27 minutes after Arafat Usama had been brought down in the box After 26 minutes.

The Hippos created many more scoring opportunities, but failed to make them count, as the opponents also had their opportunities at Uganda’s goal mouth.

Uganda qualifies for the semi-final stage after also seeing off Nigeria 2-1 in the first match. “We are very happy that the team is playing well and has advanced to the next stage. We need to keep improving as a team because we now het to the knock out stage,” says Uganda’s coach Ochama.
