Baker Mbowa to be named Express FC head coach

 

According to local website Swift Sports Uganda,  Seven time Uganda Premier league champions Express FC have decided to appoint Baker Mbowa as Isabirye’s replacement.

Mbowa, a CAF B Certified coach beat Bainomugisha Vialli to the Red Eagles job.

The position of head coach at Express FC fell vacant after Isabirye resigned from the role last week.

Following Isabirye’s resignation, club legend Hassan Mubiru temporarily served as interim head coach in the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16 defeat to BUL FC on Sunday.

Mbowa has previously managed at Bright Stars, Proline FC and Masaka LC. The tactician also worked as Sam Timbe’s assistant coach at URA FC before he left in 2023.

He also served as head coach at Mawokota and Kabula in the Masaza Cup.

Express FC are currently 9th on the Uganda Premier league table with 29 points.
