Judge Adams Byarugaba has rejected Christian Life Church lead Pastor, Jackson Ssenyonga’s henchman Israel Wasswa’s bail today morning.
Chief State Attorney Jonathan Muwaganya informed Muwanga II Court that investigations are complete and asked the court to fix the case for hearing.
This prompted the Grade One magistrate to fix the case for hearing and he also ordered the State Attorney to disclose to the defense team the required documents so that both parties be ready for hearing on the said.
Out of the nine paraded in front of the court, only Wasswa and Mwanda were sent back to the coolers until September 25th September for a hearing.
The Bwaise-based church’s head of security Wasswa and Jamil Mwanda now have to wait until the agreed-upon date 12th to know their fate.

Judge Byarugaba denied Wasswa and Mwanda bail after their sureties identification documents had issues and jumped a court bail.
“Both sureties for Wasswa don’t have valid work identity cards. So, the court can’t trust their workplace information,” Judge Byarugaba noted.
He went to question Wasswa’s residence as his Police statement has Kawempe while his introduction letter to the court has Kasangati.
“The Police statement and introduction letter from the LC1 should much to help the court trace you easily. This is a serious matter and it’s on honesty grounds that I deny you bail.”
For his colleague Jamil Mwanda, Judge Byarugaba cited his incident of jumping court bail due to alleged sickness.
“For A9 (Mwanda) you failed to show up for a court session while on bail and the medical documents presented by your lawyers were lacking. So, in that line, the court can’t trust that you will respect it.”
Who is Isreal Wasswa
If you were a keen observer of events at Christian Life Church, you could have noticed Israel Wasswa aka Jordan Banura.
He was always smartly dressed, and his role at the Church was to guard Pastor Jackson Ssenyonga and recruit desperate women to give false testimonies at the Bwaise-based Church.
Known as Pastor Ssenyonga’s top henchman, Wasswa is a former crime preventer and a key mobiliser of the Bodaboda 2010 group.
On Pastor Ssenyonga’s instructions, Wasswa would spy on and track all city pastors to find out about their homes, families, children, etc.
In fact, some of his former workers and accomplices in crime such as Peter Ojulong attested to these machinations that Wasswa used to execute on behalf of Ssenyonga.
Commenting about the Wasswa group at Ssenyonga’s church, the former Police CID Charles Twine, described Wasswa as a notorious person who opens up fabricated cases against other pastors on order of Pastor Ssenyonga.
Wasswa also masterminded a series of criminal cases against Pastor Ronnie Makabai, and he is the brain behind the fake accusations against Pastor Kayanja on sexuality and other stage-managed demonstrations at the Rubaga-based Church.
Also, it should be remembered that Wasswa has been serving two years courtesy of aggravated robbery after the High Court found him guilty together with three of his former workmates.
The victim, Sam Mukula, a former member of Christian Life Church had to undergo operation twice at Mulago Hospital due to injuries inflicted on him by security personnel attached to the church which belongs to Pastor Senyonga led by Wasswa.
The background of the case
According to the charge sheet, on 17 September 2021, the above-mentioned committed the first offence of trespass.
They entered onto or upon Rubaga Miracle Centre, property in possession of Pastor Kayanja, with the intent to insult to annoy the said Pastor Robert Kayanja.
The conspired felony contrary to Section 302 of the Panel Code Act is what has seen them spend weeks in Prison and now, they have a burden of proving their innocence.
The second offence on the charge sheet was giving false information to the Police on 27th of September 2021.
They fed D/IP Cotilda Nanduttu with misleading information that Pastor Kayanja performed unnatural offences with them.
“Intending thereby to cause or knowing it to be likely that they would cause the said D/IP Nanduttu to devote her time and services to the investigations of such information” read part of the charge sheet.
